At the start of the year Bitter Rocc released a beat tape of 16 instrumentals for MCs to download and tear up, check the Paint By Numbers mixtape (click here)

Brace yourselves, Illosophical is the debut album from Street Literature member Costello and half-way through 2012 it’s safe to say this is one of the highlights of the year.
A recent interview with Dublin-based music show Community Of Independents serves as a good introduction for new listeners
Fans of DFI Battle League will remember his clashes with Siyo, Desay and Genesis; however on Illosophical the battle mentality is gone instead we have a introspective, thought provoking LP, kept fresh with tracks like ‘Do The Best I Can‘ and ‘Love Affair‘.
The G.I production is sublime, and the beat choices complement the overall project perfectly. ‘Young Apprentice‘ and ‘The Devil’s A Liar‘ almost sound smokey while the drums keep it so raw. There isn’t a bad feature on here, ‘Let Me Blaze It f/ Willa Lee‘, ‘Analysis f/ Lethal Dialect‘ and ‘Played Out f/ 4Real & Jambo‘ demonstrate the scarily strong team of rhymers over at Working Class Records.

The first two installments of the three part series are now available for free download. This is in preparation for LD50 Magnum Opus which is on the way to being completed and released this summer.
There’s very little I can write about the albums without sounding like a deluded hyped up fan spouting endless praise. Seriously, I can’t stress enough how important these albums are for your collection. LD50 I & II issued in a new era of hip hop from Ireland; they are one of the reasons Craic Music continues to exist.
There isn’t a bad song across LD50′s 10 tracks or LD50 Pt II’s 11. It’s succinct, self-aware and crafted to near-perfection. Discussing tracks would feel like giving movie-spoilers away, and the replay value here will have you listening until the mp3′s are scratched & warped.
